THE EXPECTATION IS AT LEAST 3 DAYS OF IN-OFFICE ATTENDANCE.
Responsibilities:
- Wireless Docking Characterization
- Determines wireless range criteria for proper communication relative to antenna spacing, angular variation, signal transmission through polymers of various thicknesses, and moister interference.
- RFID Testing/Characterization
- Determines read distance for device for reading various types of cards. Look to improve antenna design/position accordingly.
- Rugged Tablet Drop Testing – conduct drop tests for various Zebra and competitor’s units to determine weak points and suggest improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:Required Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
- Must have a status of Junior or Senior while in undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 – December 2026.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship.
- Must reside within 50 miles of the primary work location – Austin, TX.
- Experience with CAD modeling using Creo, Solidworks or other 3D CAD tool experience.
- Strong Mechanical Simulation and excellent presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CAD modeling using Creo preferred.
Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques.Experience in creating/innovating in product design. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint).
- Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences.
- Ability to collaborate as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
