Job description: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee ground-up construction projects in the Austin area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the construction process. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee all phases of ground-up commercial construction projects, from pre-construction through completion.
- Site Supervision: Manage daily operations on job sites, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, project schedules, and quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate subcontractors, laborers, and vendors to ensure smooth workflow and project progression.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and subcontractors.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, identifying potential delays and implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and costs, ensuring that financial targets are met and reported.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during construction, making decisions to keep projects moving forward.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular progress reports to upper management, highlighting milestones, challenges, and next steps.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, with a focus on ground-up commercial projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling software, and project management tools.
- Certifications: OSHA certification and relevant safety training.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel within the Austin and San Antonio areas as needed.
