And we work with colleagues across the business to ensure our products always lead the way.Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as an Electrical Senior Principal Engineering Technologist on our System Architecture teams in Austin, Texas.What you’ll achieveAs an Electrical Senior Principal Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for putting the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing & the debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality and quality, as well as industry standards.You will:Design and develop electrical architecture for mobile equipment and their hardware systems. Determine and communicate design approaches and parametersDrive system architecture definition for assigned program, and ensure consistency/compatibility with other products (both new/legacy) as necessaryOversee experimental/proof of concept tests and evaluate results. Select components based on analysis of specifications, cost, continuity of supply, and reliabilityReview original design manufacturer and sub-tier vendor proposals and capability to support product development and productionEnsure that designs integrate with rest of product functions including mechanical and software. Create and maintains required documentation including specifications. Ensure the manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability of designs. Support specialized electrical sub-systems such as power, batteries, comms, graphics, component, memory, etcTake the first step towards your dream career

Here’s what we are looking for with this role:Essential Requirements5-10 years’ experience in product designWork experience and deep knowledge of X86 and/or ARM architecturePrior mobile EE architecture experienceTechnical experience in OS integrationStrong aptitude to assess and optimize products by making the proper feature tradeoffs between electrical, mechanical, power, thermal, firmware, and BIOS​Desirable RequirementsBS in Electrical Engineering or Graduate DegreeWorking with Asian ODM partners and experience running a core teamCompensationDell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
